Instructors at Surpoint in Kalpitiya are amazing. Shaan and Pathum were both very knowledgeable as well as good teachers. They provided very clear instructions and got me to enjoy the sport in a very safe and a professional manner.

Really great experience with Surfpoint! The school has an amazing location, right on the beach. The gear is all good quality and the instructors are fantastic, so friendly and patient and work really hard to get you competent. Highly recommend!

At Kalpitiya i was lucky to have good wind everyday. Shan really was patient with me and supporter me every time i made mistakes. Its hard to think of what he had could done better, i felt safe and he took a lot of time to explain things.

I did 2 weeks of kitesurfing with Shan at Surfpoint. And it was such a good experience. Shan was really patient and read the situations really wel. I needed to be rescued 2 times and he and the crew were formidabele. Couldn't have asked for more.

I had a great experience learning to kite for the first time. The teacher was clear, focused and a step ahead of me. I felt really save trying this sport with no previous experience because of my teacher. I learned a lot, in a short period of time. I can definitely recommend to try Surfing Point!

Everything was explained very well. I felt Safe and taken care of at every Moment. And the best is That I Managed to Ride to Both Sides (left and Right) Hence my teacher was very Patient and motivating :)) thank you!!

I had an amazing time taking kitesurfing lessons with Surfpoint Kalpitiya in Sri Lanka. Sean, the instructor, was truly outstanding—highly knowledgeable, patient, and always there to guide you. His teaching skills and focus on safety were top-notch. While we didn’t always wear a buoyancy aid, Sean was constantly attached to us with his leash, ensuring maximum security. My only regret? Not choosing private lessons! Nothing against my partner, Lisa, but I feel I could have progressed even faster with one-on-one sessions. A huge thank you to the entire team for the great atmosphere, smooth transport arrangements, and overall excellent service. Highly recommended!

Shan is a great teacher who explains all the important things with a lot of motivation and fun, calmly and patiently. He celebrates every success and next step with you and is totally enthusiastic when you make progress. He looked after me and my whole family very lovingly and made a lot of fun with my son, which led to a great atmosphere at the surf spot. He is not only a fantastic instructor but also a very talented kiter. It's just fun to watch him kite. You can just see he loves the sport. We will definitely come back to this spot, to this instructor and to this beautiful country. Thank you so much for this great experience.

I did my training with shaan. His knowledge on teaching kite surfing was fantastic, was very clear and good teaching skills. Safety was his main concern. I enjoyed the whole 3 days. I learned a lot from him. I very highly recommend him for anyone who is looking for as a instructor. I will definitely go back to learn more and surf in Kalpitiya with shaan again. Thank you so much. Awesome experience, Shan is a super good and nice instructor which allowed me to quickly learn how to stay upwind. The whole staff is super friendly and helpful. Had an awesome time at Surfpoint Sri Lanka and can’t wait to come back.
