Tribe Watersports, their proprietor Ben and instructor Jonty - delivered an exceptionally proficient, consciencious and professional experience for myself and our group of friends visiting Watamu. Providing coaching, together with the leasing of kiting equipment for all experience levels and weather conditions.

Jonty is the best kite teacher I met in the last years. I have had kite lessons in 10+ different spots across Europe and Africa, but he really made a difference in me progressing from a medium to a better kite surfer Thank you and I can only recommend him

Had a great experience learning at Tribe kite school in Watamu. Jonty was fantastic! Really clear and patient. Felt like I was able to learn very quickly with him whilst constantly keeping safe and equipping me with the skills to be an independent kiter. I would highly recommend him!

Jonty was a brilliant teacher. Clear instructions, great fun to be around and encouraging with lots of high fives, patient with any clarifying questions and my mistakes. Even if I crashed the kite quite hard! He was very good at identifying exactly what had gone wrong and relaying that to me in an easy to understand manner with demonstration. He considered me a student that was progressing quite quickly, but I really think that is for a great part due to his impeccable teaching style and the way he met my learning needs and kept me safe (let go of the bar sooner when crashing!) all along. Thanks a lot, Jonty. This experience made my holiday and I definitely caught the kitesurf bug now. Much appreciated. Hope I get to kite with you again one day.

I recently had my first kite lesson with Jonty, and it was a fantastic introduction to the sport. I had a great experience with Johnty and Tribe Watersports, they were professional, friendly, and accommodating. The instructors are experienced, and they take safety seriously. Within 6 hours of instruction, I was riding on the board, and I hope to continue with them in the future!

Jonty was exactly the Kite-Teacher you want. Nice and approchable, really good tips and the right balance ofconfidence in his students and a very good eye for safety. 10 out of 10 would reccomend.

Had classes with Jonty at Kitelab and couldn’t have wished for anything better. Jonty’s a great instructor: patient, great at explaining the next steps, and above all a chill guy. 10/10 would recommend! Lekker man

I rented the kite material. Before I could on water, the kite was set up together with the instructor. After that, he had subjected me to an assessment on the water. After that, I was allowed to practice and drive freely. There were always friendly answers to questions. Sometimes he looked at me and gave the expertise what I could do better.
