This past 10 hours - I rode out further into the ocean (more than 2 mins outbound) and practiced my power strokes/riding inbound to the beach. Was able to raise the consistently from half of the time to about 90% of the time coming back towards the beach. Consistently hitting upwind in both directions by the end of 10 hrs. Alex was great at showing me the subtleties and being aware of how much power i should use to get up riding back to the beach, when to continue going downwind and starting upwind. Also learning how to ride in gusty wind conditions.

Alex was an amazing instructor. Whenever I didn’t know how to do something, he would do it the way I did (which was wrong), to show me was was wrong with it. Afterwards, he would show me again but the right way to do it this time. I think that was very helpful and I learned a lot and fast with him. I would definitely recommend him as a coach for anyone wanting to get into kitesurfing.

I had a great time starting to kitesurf at LEK. Alex is an amazing teacher, who is able to adapt to your level and learning type. He is patient and dedicates a lot of time explaining all the basics. I can only recommend lek and especially Alex as a teacher!

Alex was a great teacher, and overall a great experience. Very different than any other sport, but having experience with other board sports definitely does help. School was very helpful and everyone very nice!

LEK is a professional and friendly kiteschool. From my point of view the school is the best in the world. I took lessons before but was never able to make so much progression as I did with Alex from Lek. He gave clear instructions, had a lot of patience and made me really into kitesurfing. Alex makes things visual, which really helps. Would definitely recommend this place to learn kitesurfing. The school itself has a really nice relaxed atmosphere. The staff is there to make sure you are having a nice time. Thanks again, Alex, Laurel & Pete.

The experience at LEK is first class from the initial email exchanges all the way through to payment. Laurel and her team are friendly, welcoming to all levels and really excited when you make progress. Alex my instructor was what you should want an instructor to be; patient, knowledgeable, great at translating that knowledge to something you could understand and action, rooting for you to succeed and celebrating when you do. It was a great week, see you in September.

I loved the lessons by Alex! He did teach me in a clear and patient way, so I could improve day by day. It was really great and if I would be in Cabarete again and in need for a lesson, I would definitely ask him for a lesson again!

LEK is made up of a wonderfully special team that works effectively together and with students. They were friendly, helpful and responsive. It was a pleasure meeting them and learning at this school. A big thanks to the instructor, Alex.
