I've admired this sport for years and wanted to start courses to learn how. Finally, the timing clicked and I was able to take my first course with SoCal Kitesurfing in Belmont Shores, CA. I'm very happy with the instruction and can't wait to continue my training with them.

I had taken a few lessons out of state, so decided to start back near the basics here in CA. The team at SoCal Kitesurfing was friendly and encouraging. The first half of my lesson was with instructor solo and the second half was with a second instructor and one other student. It was a bit difficult to switch between the two instructors, as the two gave me opposite/conflicting instructions. It wold be helpful if all instructors at the school taught the same basic skills, particularly when you are going to have more than one instructor in the same day. Otherwise, I had a good experience. The instructors were encouraging and patient and committed to seeing students gain independence as quickly as possible.

The rating section above does not appear to be working. Teaching, Facilities, Equipment and Safety all great. The 2nd level course represented that one would actually get instruction and time with a kite in the water. Very disappointed to find out that was not true. Very misleading.
