I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know Bart, and had the opportunity for multiple lessons with this school. Parker has been super helpful in my learning and progression and the whole team here rocks!

I enjoyed my course today. It was very informative. I wish there was more time in the water, but I understand that kite control is really important and am happy my instructor emphasized the skills to build my confidence in kite management.

They were incredibly flexible and understanding of wind conditions to provide the best possible experience. I was able to learn fundamentals outside the water and finished off with a successful few rides on water. I’m excited to continue learning from this school and plan to get equipment soon.

Had a great kite-surfing lesson today! Our small group of three got plenty of practice time, even with the intermittent wind. We tried multiple kites, which really helped us adapt, and the spacious location meant no worries about crashing into anyone. Watching experienced kitesurfers in action behind us was super motivating! The instructor was fun, clear, and pedagogic—I felt like I truly got to put theory into practice. Plus, learning under the sun made it even better. Awesome place to learn!

We had to travel 4 hours for the course and it was totally worth it. Parker did a great job of providing instruction and verified learning by asking questions. This as a 16th birthday gift for my son and it was exactly what we were looking for. They took us knowing nothing to getting up on top of the water a couple of times in one day.

Bart and team were fantastic. We were skunked with weather for two days, but had some practice in gusty wind on day one. Day three turned out great and we got a lot of good rides in. Multiple 100+ yard rides. Started practicing going upwind. Can't wait to learn more!

So Cal Kiteboarding (SCK), located in Long Beach, CA (Belmont Shores), is a first rate Kite school. The instructor staff and equipment provided for rent or lessons were readily provided on request. For a beachside school location, SCK was conveniently setup near beach showers and restroom facilities. Parking is a stones throw from the SCK vans and wind blades for either pay-per-slot or public spots along Ocean Blvd. As the summer and the high-kite season nears, parking may be more congested as kiting popularity increases with better weather. Overall experience = A+.. Like any professional experience, the prices are commensurate to scheduling and staff availability. Don't be Late! There are a greater number of students vying for training slots every day. Have fun and be safe is the SCK mantra, and we felt very secure in the training and friendships we established there.

The course was extreemly easy to arrange. Bart provided quick support by email to allow me to arrange at short notice from overseas (based in Germany). During the course, I was able to learn the safety aspects of the sport and get on the water quickly. I gave 4 stars for safety, it would have been 5 if they'd have given something to recap or take away, perhaps IKO could provide some resources to refresh the safety aspects as it is a lot to take in and remember for the first time solo after the course. In the end though, this isn't an issue. There is enough of this kind of thing availble on the net, I'm just anal about safety having spent 35 years sailing/powerboating. The setting was nice although a little crowded (probably because it is a good spot close to LA). There was good wind every time I was there. I assume this is what is meant by facilities because as such this is a beach setting and not a club-house/sailing school. The course didn't suffer for that though, california sunshine and a clean beach make and excelent setting for the course. There are basic showers/toliets close by. I'm not that knowlegable about equipment but the kites we where given seemed pretty good. It was great to get chance to try a few different models and start small to work up. On the whole, a pleasant experience that I'd have no trouble to recomend or visit again (I'll probably do level 3 later this year)
