Merci. Michel.

I really apreciated the training, and especially my trainer Steve. I could now see my progress during the whole week. He gave us confidence to evolve in the path of becoming ATC. Before my training i was a little bit worried, but now i am more confident for hte next week.

Hello, this course was very bad i have been for more than 15 years and im doing world competition and some people were here at the Formation and they had only a week of Kite and the end the final evaluation correct so which means that they are going to be responsible of two student during your lesson? I find this very very bad to have only two weeks of Formation and you need to to learn a big book, which is very impossible. In one week I failed on my theory exam because I am really not into writing I understand a lot by practising so I am very not happy about this course and the way it's done
REPLY FROM THE EXAMINER STEVE JONES: The IKO require riding level 4 to be able to teach kitesurfing. During the course we had adequate wind for most people to show their level. Those who could not show their level were sent away with an action plan to be able to improve on their level to complete the course. There was no one on the course who had just done 1 week of kitesurfing. Competing on the world circuit in wingfoil does not necessarily give people the adequate requirements to teach kitesurfing or wingfoiling. The course is very condensed, and participants need to be 100% committed to reading the manual and studying during the days and evenings of the course. If this is not the case, then acquiring the knowledge to pass the theory part of the course is difficult. Participants who struggle with the written theory exam are given the opportunity to answer the exam questions orally during the feedback session. Most participants who have paid attention during the course, taken the time to study the manual and done the homework will generally pass the theory part of the course.

REPLY FROM THE EXAMINER STEVE JONES: The candidate was unable to apply the IKO standards to his kitesurfing and the teaching of the sport. From the start until the end of the course, he was unable to take on board constructive feedback from the examiner and from the other participants, feedback that is given to help participants develop and grow as IKO instructors. During the course the candidate was constantly on his telephone and was repeatedly late. Each time this happened he was informed but was not prepared to make any effort to change.During the riding evaluation the candidate was able to demonstrate most level 4 riding skills. He struggled to demonstrate the self-rescue safely and according to the IKO standards. During the live teaching the IKO standards were not demonstrated to a high enough standard to pass the course. As a result, he has been asked to do an internship of 30 hours with a level 2 instructor to validate the course.
