Matias Pelaez

Thanks to excellent instruction from Matias, I am much better at transitions. I can do a toeside to regular jibe, learned to do small jumps and land some of them!. Matias assessed my ability level, listened to my interests, and guided me on learning new skills. I'm thrilled to have talen this course! I will be back!

Mi instructor siempre basó todo el curso en la seguridad y la insistencia en aprender muy bien cada nivel antes de seguir adelante, lo cual me transmitió mucha seguridad a la hora de realizar el deporte. También es válido acotar que la geografía del lugar es ideal para el aprendizaje continuo

El profesor fue paciente conmigo, me gustó que tomó Muy en serio mi seguridad, se aseguró que fuera dominando cada reto antes de pasar al próximo pero a su vez logró durante el curso que dominara el deporte y pudiera disfrutarlo al máximo. Demasadoada gracias.

Le spot est vraiment bien, vent, un peu de vagues, parfait pour parfaire son apprentissage et apprendre de nouvelles pratiques. Point très positif pour moi il y avait peu de monde par rapport à la plage de Kite juste à côté ! Bref c était parfait pour moi.

I felt super good and safe from my first lesson till the last one. It was important for me to learn fast and to understand my movements. They explained everthing very good. I had a great time and i am ready to Kitesurf!

For a brand new school the coaching, location and equipment were top notch, the facilities were still under construction but did not diminish the experience. I can’t wait to go back and see the vision completed.

Great instruction - other instructors I've had have a tendency repeat themselves in rapid fire thinking the reason you aren't doing what they said is because you didn't hear them which has always been frustrating to me. Usually, I'm trying to do what the instructor is saying but it's just not working for whatever reason so them repeating 'left, left, left' isn't helpful and just ends up stressing me out. I had Eli and he was great and in times I needed to go left and wasn't able to (just making up an example here) - he was able to tell me what small motion specifically I wasn't doing to really help me learn. He was patient and listened and I had a great time and really improved my water skills. 100% recommended and hope to be back soon.

I was very pleased with the Kiteboard instruction I received from Instructor Matias Palaez and Safari Kiteschool. Since I had never worked with the kite before, Matias took me through a well-developed and logical course of instruction appropriate for my beginning level. The initial day of instruction took us through the structure of the kite and the proper attachment of the lines; as well as the aerodynamics of the kite. As the course progressed each new building-block of knowledge was presented and discussed; the maneuver was demonstrated and I was given the opportunity to practice the new maneuver. Matias has a very personable style. I always felt like he was committed to my success. If I had any questions, Matias always had the patience to understand my concern and explain or review the information until I understood. If Matias felt that I had mastered the maneuver to the appropriate level, we moved on. If I felt like I needed to continue practice, or redo and exercise, Matias had the patience to let me redo the exercise until I felt confident to move on. The result being, as I worked through each level of instruction, I was confident that I had the necessary skills to meet the next challenge and ultimately get me riding. Throughout the course of instruction, I was very impressed with Matias' attention to safety. From the quality of the equipment that we were given to use, to the safety review that we were given, to the go/no-go decisions made during the instruction, I always felt that safety was at the forefront of Matias' mind. This was very important to me, especially since my son was working through the same course. Overall, the instruction I received from Matias Palaez and Safari Kiteschool was outstanding.

I am very glad to have trained with Matias in Cabarete, DR. He was very patient with me, he explained the instructions and techniques clearly and was in control of the situation at all times. The waves in Cabarete can be quite big, but I always felt safe with Matias. I highly recommended learning with him and would gladly go back to continue my training.

Matias was a great instructor, covering from the basic of kitesurfing to more advanced technics based on the improving level class after class. He demonstrated great kite skills with great attitude towards teaching and socializing with us students
