I liked the way this school had a clear process to teach students how to kite board. I have tried learning in schools in Aruba and it was nothing compared to this. This is the place to go if you want to get the full training on how to kite board. From setting up your kite, to learning to ride up wind. My last lesson was in 2016 and these guys were able to help assess the knowledge I still had of the sport and train me at the right level.

I love going to see me friends at LEK facility outside of Oceans Dream in Cabarete. This place has an incredible vibe. Instructors are the best, service is professional, and wind conditions are often perfect. A truly inviting and comfortable place to learn how to kite surf.

From the instructors to the founder Laurel and her husband Pete, every aspect of the school first rate. My wife and I received quality instruction and always felt safe and well looked after by the whole team. I can recommend LEK School and their instructors without any reservations. We left better kite boarders and made some great new friends. We'll be back!

The staff were very friendly, transparent about cost, and efficient with gear and rentals. The instruction was great! We went step by step to feel comfortable and safe on the water. My instructor was very knowledgeable and patient!

After many different schools and attempts I finally found professionalism and daily progress in this school even in difficult circumstances for beginners. I cant be thankful enough to my teacher Eury for his patience, the methodic instructions, the mental guidance and the joy of it all!

Great instructors. Had never kited before, never stood up on a wakeboard (not for lack of trying) and was level 3 after four 2 hour sessions. Tough place to learn but learning here means you can kite anywhere I've heard! Water was warm, constant wind, great location.

Had three days of lessons with Eury. He was very patient with me given that i was scared of the wave conditions as I never have kited out in that much chop. Over a three day period I improved with his instruction. He had more confidence in me than did I. Given the surf the instruction is done from the beach. He would get me past the shore break and get me ready to get on my board. Having him there watching me and coming to my rescue if i needed it was very comforting. I highly recommend him as an instructor and the folks at LEK were so nice and friendly.

Epic location with wind everyday like a clock. Great folks. This was my first attempt at kiting. Watch as many learn to kite and water start videos as possible before you go as they are a little light on theory, terminology, etc when you get there. There is no chalkboard or videos to start. Straight to practice kite handling. A few things I would add to there course that might make it easier for a first timer: I am 60 and kind of a spaz, so it would have been really good to practice putting the board on my feet while flying the kite in shallow water where you could regroup quickly before trying to start in deep water. Just ten minutes of that prior to going to deep water would have helped me a lot. Second, I injested a lot of salt water out there when I was setting up to waterstart and also after regrouping when I dropped the kite and stuff. My lifejacket (which was proper and in good condition) would float my head just above the water. An extra float , like those old waterski belts, would have been really good for the first few hours hours of deep water water starts to keep your head a little higher so you could relax a bit. As it was, i was spending lots of energy trying not injest salt water, which upped the stress level when I should have been concentrating on handling the kite and start positioning. All in all, great place and nice folks.

I had a great time taking lessons! I worked with two instructors, Alex one day, Eury for several, who were both very supportive and encouraging and gave lots of good direction. I received lots of detailed information and was given plenty of time to feel comfortable with all aspects of flying the kite in and out the water. Instructors let me go at my pace and also wanted to make sure that they felt that I was meeting their expectations before they let me move on to something else. For them there was no need through checking off a box, just making sure that I was happy and feeling confident. I surprised myself at how much I enjoyed this activity and am thrilled that I got to stand up on the board. I am very happy with my overall experience and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in learning this awesome sport!
