Bento is a really good instructor, everyone on the beach knows him and raves about his knowledge. With that I took an intro course and an intermediate and I feel very comfortable in the skills I have learned. I feel safe and on the road to really learning the skill!! I am super excited to return for more lessons.

Learning with Bento has been such an amazing experience. He encourages questions and curiosity and explains things in a way that is easy to understand. He’s patient and very enthusiastic in teaching the sport. He’s made me fall in love with kitesurfing and definitely recommend anyone who’s curious to take lessons with him!

I had an incredible experience learning to kiteboard with Bento. He’s not only extremely knowledgeable and safety-focused, but also patient and encouraging throughout the entire process. Kiteboarding can feel intimidating at first, but he breaks everything down in a way that makes it manageable and actually fun. What stood out most was how attentive he was to the details from proper kite control and board positioning to reading the wind and water conditions. I always felt safe and supported, which made it much easier to build confidence quickly. If you’re thinking about learning to kiteboard, I can’t recommend Bento enough. Professional, reliable, and genuinely passionate about what he does.

I had the best experience learning with Bento! Thanks to his patient and clear teaching, I’m now confidently riding both directions, going upwind and downwind, and even doing transitions. He helped me reach Level 3, and I couldn’t be happier with the progress. Bento has a great way of explaining things that makes everything click, even when it gets challenging. He created a calm, supportive environment that made me feel safe while pushing myself to improve. If you’re looking to seriously level up your kiteboarding, Bento is the guy you want. Can’t recommend him enough!

Bento was a great instructor. He first learned what my previous experience was and he adjusted the class accordingly. We did a review of the basics and where soon in the water. His instructions were good and thoughtful. He gave me time to play around, but also noticing precisely what I could be doing better and provided me useful tips.

Very excited to be starting on this new adventure! Bento was a very cool teacher and a pleasure to learn from. All the equipment appeared brand new and top quality. I felt really well taken care of and will be back again very soon!

Honestly Bento and the SoCal Kite Surfing School deserve a round of applause for the great service and awesome teaching. Bento especially I recommend he was funny and new what to say to explain how to do things and I hope to have him again!

Even with many summers of trainer kites, and about 6 hours of previous power kite experience, my son needed fundamental safety training. The instructor used safety as the central focus of my son's lesson. The water portion of the lesson really helped my son progress to handling a board in the water, and his first attempts at a water-start. We will be returning to Socal Kitesurfing for the next lessons,and requesting Bento.

Great location with pretty consistent wind. Bento over at SoCal Kitesurfing was the perfect confidence builder. He can tell right away what your skill level is and then pushes you to safely learn more and more. Very happy with this school, and I’ll now be moving up to their supervised rentals.
